Life In Multimedia University
My blog is so abondoned ya..haha..
Since 8th June, I have started my Uni life in Multimedia University ( MMU ) which is located in Bukit Beruang, Malacca. The campus is not as big as I thought but the facilities is good, I must say. It is quite clean also.(you know, private school,we pay a lot)
My main major is accounting and I went for 5 hours of classes altogether. ( because I am accepted by Universiti Putra Malaysia) I paid RM500 as deposit. It means 1 hour costs me RM100. Sigh..
I had my classes at Faculty of Business and Law. The class is quite big, almost 150++ of us in a hall. Everyone seemed so excited because it was a new beginning. We also had our lectures in CLC. I got myself a few new friends here especially Regina who is a very sweet girl.
I skipped the orientation week so most of the time I had to depart early from where I stayed because I might be lost. When I went for my taekwondo class, I spent almost half an hour wandering in the campus because I did not know where the tennis court was located. It was 8pm and there was nobody for me to ask. It was a very tiring practice for that day. I suffered for 2 more hours. The instructor kept looking at us and I could not be lazy. I felt like my legs were not longer mine. Pity..
The food here..erm..ok la..but quite expensive..I miss my mummy's cooking..
Oh ya..The place I stayed is Ixora Apartment. It is very near to our school. It takes only 1 minute to reach our school back door. I am staying in Blok A, 17th floor. It is my first time staying in such a tall building. There are 4 rooms in my apartment, 2 bath rooms, 1 living room, kitchen and balcony which has a good view. My room is totally new because there was no one staying before. Sze Ying is my roommates who studied in STK also. There are 6 more girls in my apartment, Wan Li ( who has gone to UKM), Eunice, Jeffue, Xin Yu, Ying Kun and Li Ting. We had a good time here. Sometimes we went swimming together and enjoyed ourselves soaking in the pool for 3 hours!
I must say I have started to love this place but I have to leave. Goodbye, my two-week-home..

My Cute Students
I am teaching Year 2 Mathematics in SJK (C) Kampung Gajah. Recently, they are learning multiplication of 2,3,4 and 5 . So they have to memorize the multiplication table.
A few days ago, I asked a Malay student, Siti who is a very cheerful girl to read the multiplication table of two and four. As this is a chinese school, the Malay students have to learn everything in chinese. Although they are just Year 2, some of them can speak mandarin quite fluently). She was very confident and started it.
" e si ba (饿死吧= hungry until die)"
" si yi si (死一死= try to die )
I forced myself not to laugh because I knew she was trying to say 2 x 4 = 8 ( 二四八)and 4 x 1 = 4 ( 四一四)
The class monitor is a very cute boy. His name is Chee Hong. His friends like to call him as little fatty.
One day, he forgot my name and made a mistake by calling me another name. I pretended to get angry and joked with him. I deliberately did not call his name to answer the questions.
"I have forgotten who Chee Hong is and I do not want to call this name" I said.
He got panicked and kept making all kind of noises to draw my attention. Finally he gave up.
" Ceh, I do not want to answer anymore " he said.
" OK la, I was just kidding with you. Chee Hong, it is your turn" I said
" Don't want" he said.
" I thought your name is Chee Hong? Okay, I call you little fatty next time. "
He stood up immediately and answered the questions. Then he said,
" Don't call me little fatty , OK? "
The class was laughing.
After finished class, I heard him saying,
" mi cai lai le = 米菜来了" (rice and vegetables are coming)
I wondered what was happening. Then finally I understood. He was trying to say " Ms Chai lai le "
Enjoying my teaching life..

Future
I have not been updating my blog for a long time. I was busy thinking about my future plan as I got my STPM result on 11th March.
It was a sunny day... Ok, we skip this part. Anyway I did not get 4A ( as expected ) because I was "killed" by Biology again as I got B+ for it. The history during SPM has repeated. Haih.
However it can considered as OK as I will not face any problem in applying for any course in private university or college. Just that I have to PAY MORE. As study loan is available, I think I still can afford it. The most important thing is WHAT I WANT TO STUDY.
One and a half year, I have gone through so much of hardship with my friends. I think everybody had put a lot of effort for this exam. Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology killed a lot of my brain cells. It caused hormonal problem and that's why I am having obesity. Ok ok, I admit I am just trying to find excuses for eating a lot.
Medicine or pharmacy? I have been thinking for a long time.. Finally, I made up my mind. I have chosen accountancy. Surprising? Is it a waste for my STPM? I do not know.
I know I am not interested in working in lab so I did not consider Bioengineering at all. I am alright with medicine but it is quite a tiring job and I do not have any passion. Therefore, I want to give it a try in business world.
I am not sure whether i will regret in future. Just do my best, I have been telling myself as I have made a choice. ALL THE BEST to myself.

To Deal With Lazy Bugs
Like what I said before, some of the children are really persistent. They are very determined not to do their homework. No matter how hard you cane them, their books are also empty in the next day. I have to find a solution as the headmistress will check the children's books. I do not want to get myself a scolding.
Therefore, I have found a way to deal with them. Do you know what subjects they like most? PJ, Computer and music. I will check their timetable every morning, and ask them to finish their homework in the staff room during those periods. You can see how reluctant they are when I call their name before they go for those classes. (I have a complete list recording all those students who have not passed up their homework)
This method really works! They finish their homework in staff room and make my life easy. They also start to do their homework at home because they do not want miss those classes anymore.

Touched
This is the fifth week of my teaching life. I have to admit that I am still not so skillful as other teachers. But I am really trying my best to teach.
Some of the children are really adorable. Sometimes they draw pictures for me. They gave me some stickers and bookmarks also. Although those are not very valuable things, I am still touched.
But some of them really drive me crazy. They never do their homework, never study the spelling, never concentrate in class. I tried to imagine that they were transparent but they kept making noise in class. They annoyed me. I could not stand of them so I had to cane them. Sigh

Apologize
It had been two years. You were always there for me. Ken, I know you are really a nice guy. You are good-looking, talented and caring. But my answer is still the same. I am really not in the mood to start a relationship. Sorry.
Thanks for being there when my grandmother passed away. Thanks for your support when I feel stressed. You are always my brother.

Star Education Fair
Star Education Fair was held on last Sunday. I went to KLCC with my dad by bus. For your information, I am really a SLEEPING QUEEN.(you can ask my classmates if you do not believe) I was sleeping during the whole journey to K.L.
This was the first time I tried LRT in Malaysia. I have tried Singapore and Australia one before and I think Malaysia one is not so good. :p
Well, it was not so crowded like PC Fair but I still spent a lot of time there. I got a lot of free gifts also, such as pens, highlighters, calendar, bookmarks, note books etc. Oh ya, especially plastic bags.HAHA.
I am interested in pharmacy and accounting course. So my dad and I were busy comparing the universities. I really do not know what my interest is. That's why I cannot make any decision. But I think my STPM result can give me answer.
I went to Kinokuniya after I finished my dinner. I bought a book entitled " The Secret" which was recommended by my English teacher, Pn. Pres. I haven't read the book yet because I am really busy recently. My school headmistress is retiring soon. I have to train the students for performance.
Tired..

Innocence
After school, I was on the way back to staff room, a student came to look for me.
"Teacher, I need some help in my studies. May I contact you when I face any problem?"
I looked at the boy and considered. He looked so innocent and I nodded my head.
"May I have your number?"
Well, I was careless this time. It was a disaster. I could not take my nap properly the whole evening. I did not know how my number could be spread to another class. They kept sending message to me.
" Guess who I am.."
" Hello, can you reply me?"
" What are you doing?"
" May I have your email address?"
It was so annoying. I had a feeling that I was cheated. Now I think I am the innocent one.

Goodbye Lyrics (Singer: The Melody)
oh I love you
Endless time
I lose my mind
Because of you
oh I want to kill myself
you are the only love
in my life
the only thing there is night
my love you are every
breath that I
take oh I love you
if you go say good bye
but you know this
I will always love you
bye bye if you go
say goodbye
but you know this
I will always love you
어떤 말도 하기 힘들 때
otton maldo hagi himdul ttae
또 그대가 보고 싶을 때
ddo kudae-ga pugo shipul ttae
아무런 말도
amuron maldo
아무런 행동도
amuron haeng-dongdo
무엇도 난 할 수 없잖아
mu-otdo nan hal su optjanha
(Translation: When it’s hard to say anything
And when I want to see you
Can’t say anything
Can’t do anything
I can’t do anything at all)
everyday every night
every single day I want you
please don’t leave me alone
don’t leave me alone
I want you
I need you love you
I’m gonna take you
if you go say good bye
but you know this
I will always love you
bye bye if u go
say good bye
but you know this
I will always love you
oh I want to kill myself
I am just singing
I love you

Adaptation
Do you know the power of a cane?
Well, I think most of you know. Don't worry, I am not so violent. Just trying to scare the children.
During recess, I was sitting in the staff room. There were a few Year 6 boys wandering outside the staff room. ( I do not teach Year 6 but I can recognise them ) I noticed them when they started making noise and tried to push one boy into the staff room. I was wondering what was going on. Then this boy was standing in front of me.
" Teacher, may I know your name please? Are you new here? You are so pretty."
Wahahahahaha..... Of course, I did not laugh like this at that moment.(but deep down in my heart) I got to maintain my image. But .. he really brightened my day.. Hahaha.. You got what I mean, right?
Let's drop the subject.
Today everything was fine. No big problem but an accident occurred. There was a little girl who banged into a pillar and her lips was bleeding when she came back from toilet. She was crying non-stop and made me panicked. I wiped her lips using tissue and tried to comfort her. This is the first time. I have never been so patient before, really..
Still in the process of adaptation..

My First Day
"Whoever does not finish your work by now, you cannot step out from this classroom. I don't mind staying in this classroon with you today.."
It was the last period. I stood at the front door of the classroom. Every student was staring at me. Without hesitation, almost all of them took their pencils out and copy down the notes.
Well, I did not want to do this to them actually. But some of them were really irritating. There were 15 students in Year 4. I am their English teacher. I have known this school is what so-called "kampung school" long ago. Most of them do not go tuition class and their parents do not care about their studies so much. But..but..I can't believe that 5 of them do not know what the word " father" means! Some of the Malays cannot understand Chinese(Year 4 already!).There were 2 Malay boys who could not even sit properly and kept making noise. As today is the first day, so I did not want to scream at them. I asked them to stand up until the end of the class. They stood up, but walked around the class. ( I bought a cane today. TRY IT AGAIN tomorrow, I will make you very sorry..)
I like the Year 2 students. All of them are very cute. I teach Maths. They like to answer questions and active ( in a good way). I enjoyed a lot teaching them. Year 3 students were okay also. I was teaching them music. But the radio was not cooperative at all. It was jammed. You can imagine how panicked I was..
In conclusion, it is time for me to think about how to manage those naughty students. I cannot stand of the noise but I do not want to waste other students' time. Who can give me some suggestion...?

Preparation For My Teaching Life
Today I had a meeting in school since 9a.m. But I was not listening carefully actually because I watched Naruto until too late last night. Okay, this is not a very good example. Anyway I am not yet a teacher right? (have to wait a few hours later) :p
Then 3p.m. there was another meeting in PPD. It was just like a lullaby. I put my notebook on my thigh and hold a pen. I was looking down at my book and I fell asleep. After the meeting, a guy who was sitting next to me praised me for being so hardworking because he thought that I was recording about the meeting. Oh my god...
At night, I went for taekwondo class. I shouldn't go. Now my whole body is aching especially my hands and legs. It was torturing and tiring. I do not feel like moving anymore.
Time to sleep. Gotta wake up early in the morning as the school is quite far from my house. I wonder whether I can stand of those children..

New Year 2008
Today is 1 Jan 2008. A completely different new year for me.
1) I have my own blog. (haha)
2) I can finally say goodbye to my school uniform as i had just finished my STPM.
3) I am entering university this year. Hooray!
4) I am now addressed as Ms Teoh as i m teaching in SJK (C) Kampung Gajah.(temporary)
5) I am studying C.A.T. (Certified Accounting Technician)
...to be continued...
However I miss those days in school although Form 6 life is quite tough for me. I really appreciate those who helped me a lot all these years. To those who helped me, thanks for teaching me how to give, how to love and how to face life positively. To those who hurted me, thanks for teaching me how to tolerate, how to forgive and how to be humble.
During Form 6, I really learn a lot. Not only those written on books, but also positive attitude to face life. I used to think that I was only the one who was so unlucky to enter Form 6. But after I had met so many people who are so smart and hardworking, I changed my mind. I know I am not the only one.
Orientation, class party 2006, farewell dinner 2006, Biology project, Paloh Trip, Sports Day, class drama (story of a fishball), badminton tournament, Talentime, Premier Night, farewell dinner 2007, STPM 2007......
These are what i have gone through in STK. Bitter and sweet..
Oh..not forgetting all those events that I have gone through outside the school such as performanceS and competitionS. (Quite a number)
Time to do some preparation for my teaching life. Wish me all the best. Hope that the students are not as naughty as I ..
